We’re delighted to welcome you to Rocky Harbour and to the beauty of Gros Morne National Park. Whether you’re here to relax by the sea, explore the outdoors, or enjoy the warmth of Newfoundland hospitality, our team is here to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

This guide has everything you need to help you settle in, discover our amenities, and make the most of your time with us. If there’s anything we can do to enhance your stay, please let us know — it’s our pleasure to help.

FRONT DESK

You can call or text the Front Desk at 1-709-200-1650 or dial 1001 from your house phone.  The Desk is open 24 hours a day.

If there is a concern or problem with your room please notify the Front Desk immediately.  Please do not wait until you check out.  If the concern or problem is within our control we will do our utmost to resolve the situation.

EMERGENCY

In the event of a medical emergency Dial 9-1-1 from your phone or the house phone.   Bonne Bay Health Centre is located at 131 Main Street, Norris Point, providing acute, 24 Hour Emergency, long term and palliative care to the surrounding region.  Tel 709-458-2381

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is available in our Oceans Bistro from 7am - 11am.  Fresh Coffee to go, sandwich wraps, fresh fruit and beverages including filtered water available in our Grab & Go Pantry in the lobby starting at 7am.

If you would like to join us for dinner in our Oceans Bistro & Dining Room please dial 1006, reservations are highly recommended.

THE LIFT

Our hotel has a lift (elevator) beside the front desk that runs between the 1st and 2nd floor to the Oceans Bistro and Dining. Please call the Lift using the button, when it arrives open the door and once inside then close the door and hold the button continuously to go up or down.

The Ocean View Hotel is proud to serve the best breakfast in town — the perfect way to start your day exploring Gros Morne.  Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or cappuccino, all your breakfast favourites, and local specialties like our Sailor’s Breakfast or Fisherman’s Fold omelette, all served with a true taste of Newfoundland hospitality.

Lunch 11am - 2pm

Take a break and enjoy a relaxed upscale lunch with beautiful views of Rocky Harbour.  Fresh salads, the best Seafood Chowder around, freshly prepared sandwiches, fish & chips and more - our menu is perfect for refueling before your next Gros Morne adventure.  Yes you can still have breakfast for lunch!   

Late Night 9pm - 12 midnight

Enjoy a handcrafted cocktail after the show or share a local beer with your new friends that you’ve met during your stay.  We offer light snacks and a full cocktail and mocktail menu as well as a curated wine list and local beer on tap.

Savour a memorable sunset dinner as the coastline glows beneath starry skies and the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse sends its steady beam across the bay.  Our menu highlights Newfoundland’s finest flavours, with locally sourced seafood— lobster, cod, halibut, salmon, shrimp, scallops, mussels— and hearty favourites like premium ribeye and rotisserie chicken. Fresh local ingredients, regional berry desserts, and a curated international wine list complete the experience.

The Anchor Pub - Dial 1005 - Main Floor beside Lobby

The Anchor Pub is the perfect place to settle in, unwind, and enjoy the simple pleasures of great pub fare, a cold beer, and warm company. For casual dining, you can cozy up inside or head out to our waterfront deck, where salty breezes and sweeping views make every meal feel special. With good food, good drinks, and great scenery, The Anchor Pub offers a true Newfoundland experience from the first sip to the last laugh.

The Anchor Pub comes alive with live entertainment seven nights a week, making it one of the best spots in Rocky Harbour to spend an evening.

ANCHORS AWEIGH SHOW @ The Anchor Pub

If you’ve purchased tickets to the Anchors Aweigh show, be sure to call the Anchor Pub directly at 1005 to reserve your table for dinner. It’s the best way to enjoy great food, great music, and a true Newfoundland night out.  Shows are Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the season.  For tickets contact Bon Tours at bontours.ca or call 1-888-458-2016 or stop by their office located at 105 Pond Road.

THE KITCHEN PARTY @ The Anchor Pub

Traditional tunes, spontaneous dancing, and plenty of local charm, our Kitchen Party is an authentic taste of Newfoundland’s warm and welcoming spirit.  Join local recording artist Dave Shears and get “Screeched In” Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday starting @ 8pm during the season.  Tickets are only available at the door.

GRAB & GO PANTRY

Beside the Front Desk we have our Grab & Go Market offering Coffee, a variety of wrap sandwiches, fresh fruit, muffins and drinks.  Fresh coffee will be available starting at 7am every day and the fridges are stocked as needed.  Coffee is $1.00 with 100% of proceeds donated to the Gros Morne Kids Breakfast Program.  Like you would at home, please help yourself and please make your payment at the Front Desk.

We offer a free filtered water station in the Grab & Go Market for you to fill up your water bottle before heading out to enjoy your day.

Vending Machines are also located in the Grab & Go Market with all your favorite snacks and treats.  You’ve earned it!

HOTEL SERVICES & AMENITIES

HOUSEKEEPING

Upon check-in your room has been thoroughly cleaned and supplied with fresh linens.  To help conserve water and energy please place the card provided on your pillow to advise Housekeeping if your linens do not need to be changed.  To keep your existing towels please drape used towels over the curtains rod or towel rack.  To change please place towels on the floor or in the bathtub.

Should you require additional linens or any item for your room please contact the Front Desk at 1001.

YOUR GUEST ROOM

SAFETY

Your safety is our highest priority.  On the back of your door is a diagram that outlines where you  are in the building and the nearest exit as where the Muster Station is for your room in the event of an evacuation.  Please take a moment to review this diagram.

YOUR BALCONY / PATIO

If you go out onto your balcony your door will lock automatically and your room key will not fit the patio door.

TELEVISION

Your room has cable tv, and a station guide card can be found in your room.

HEATING / COOLING

Heat is controlled in each room individually.  Your room is equipped with a mini split and a baseboard heater.  More information on how to operate the remote can be found in your room.

QUIET HOURS

To help everyone enjoy a good night’s rest, we kindly ask guests to keep things nice and quiet between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.  Thanks for being a good neighbour — we appreciate it.

NO SMOKING

For the comfort of all guests The Ocean View Hotel is a no-smoking property.  There is no smoking in any of our rooms or public spaces, on balconies or patios.  Designated smoking areas with signage are located behind the hotel and outside of the Anchor Pub.  Thank you.

ROOM RATES

Do not include taxes.  A 3% Gros Morne Accommodation Levy and a 15% Harmonized Sales Tax will apply to all room rates.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Interac, Travelers Cheques & Cash.

There is an ATM located in the lobby.

MEETING ROOMS

Meeting rooms are available for an additional fee.  Please ask at the Front Desk.

PET POLICY

Pets are restricted to domestic dogs and cats.  Service pets are allowed in all rooms.  Other pets are allowed in rooms designated as Pet Friendly.  The Hotel reserves the right to charge your account in proportion to the cost of any clean up and damages.

WIFI POLICY

Wireless internet is available throughout the building.  The Hotel is not liable for any loss of data, file corruption, hacking or any damage to one’s computer while using the Internet service.  The Internet services is complimentary and while the Provider and Hotel do our best to provide a reliable connection we cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

VALUABLES / LOST & FOUND

The Hotel is not responsible for any valuables.  The guest agrees that he or she is responsible for all incidental charges or lost items and agrees to take personal responsibility for any lost items, damages and breakage.  The Hotel’s Loss Prevention Team will make every effort to ensure that lost or forgotten items will be safely returned.  If the owner can not be located items will be kept for 30 days.
