Ocean Investments Limited, owners and operators of the Ocean View Hotel and related hospitality and holdings operations in Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador, are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to oversee and integrate the financial operations of our hotel and food & beverage businesses. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability, professional autonomy, and the opportunity to play a key role in the financial leadership of a well-established hospitality operation.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily financial reconciliations across hotel and food & beverage operations
• Coordinate departmental financial reporting and ensure consistency and accuracy
• Oversee financial integration processes between hotel, restaurant, bar, and related holdings
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial performance reports for management and owners
• Work with management to develop annual operating budgets and capital financing plans
• Support cash flow management, forecasting, and capital planning
• Identify operational efficiencies, cost controls, and opportunities to maximize ROI
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies as required
• Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to best financial practices
Qualifications & Experience
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) considered a strong asset
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial controller roles including experience with Quickbooks
• Experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or multi-department operations is a significant advantage
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and cash flow management
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with management

• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Average 35 hours per week, location flexibility for seasonal operations is possible
• More flexible schedules during the off-season (November–April)

Position Details
Wage: $20–$25/hour (based on experience)
Hours: Guaranteed 40+ hours per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and standards
Perform daily prep and assist with inventory management
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workstations
Uphold food safety, quality control, and kitchen standards

Assist with catering and special events

About the Role
This position focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, upscale casual dining environment featuring local seafood, fresh ingredients, and traditional Newfoundland flavours with a modern flair.
Key Responsibilities
Provide fast, professional, friendly, and attentive table service
Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
Serve meals and beverages according to established standards
Suggest menu items, daily features, and beverage pairings
Support bartenders and kitchen staff during busy service periods
Handle guest enquiries and provide local recommendations
Assist with reservations and guest coordination when required

About the Role
This position blends bartending, hosting, and front-of-house support in a fast-paced, upscale casual setting focused on local seafood, craft cocktails, and a curated wine list.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast, efficient and professional manner
Craft cocktails with consistency and creativity
Pour wine and confidently suggest wine pairings
Serve guests seated at the bar and in the bistro food and beverages as needed
Support Hostess with guest seating flow
Support wait staff with drink orders and food & beverage service
Handle guest enquiries and provide local recommendations
Take guest reservations and assist with guest coordination
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient bar workspaces
Other hotel and bistro related duties as required
Our Bistro Bar hours are 5pm until 12 Midnight with scheduled breaks and back up support from the Pub
Experience Required:

The Front Desk Attendant provides professional, friendly service and supports all guest check in, check out, reservation, and inquiry needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Welcome and assist guests during arrival and departure.
Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications.
Process payments accurately and follow cash handling procedures.
Respond to guest concerns and escalate when needed.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Comfortable using computers and reservation software.

Primary Responsibilities:
Clean and service guest rooms, including linens, bathrooms, and amenities.

Clean and restock public washrooms and hallways.
Support laundry operations including washing, drying, and folding.

The Night Security & Cleaning Attendant is responsible for maintaining safety, security, and cleanliness throughout the hotel during overnight hours. This role ensures guest comfort, protects property, and supports smooth morning operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct scheduled patrols of interior and exterior areas.
Monitor activity and respond to disturbances or unusual situations.
Ensure entrances, exits, and restricted areas remain secure.
Follow emergency procedures and complete incident reports.
Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobbies, hallways, entrances, and restrooms.
Sanitize high touch surfaces and empty waste bins.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks and restocking as needed.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
Qualifications:
Ability to stay alert and attentive during overnight shifts.
Strong communication and judgment.
Physical ability to perform rounds and cleaning tasks.
